Ink and Toner Cartridge Storage and Printer Maintenance
Ink and Toner Cartridges should be stored in an upright position before usage. The ink in the cartridge must move to the bottom of the cartridge and pass through a sponge to start working. During shipping, cartridges do not stay in an upright position sometimes causing the ink to collect at the opposite end of the cartridge. For the best results place the cartridge in an upright position for several hours before usage.
Shelf life of our compatible equivalent printing products is approximately 1 year. However this can be longer or shorter depending on several factors including humidity and temperature. Toner cartridges should be used within a 1-2 year period.
To maintain your printer’s print quality, you need to maintain it. To keep it fine tuned we recommend that you replace the fuser and rollers every 10-12 cartridges. Maintenance kits include a fuser, feed and transfer rollers. HP printers are designed so that the end user can easily change the fuser and rollers. Xerox and Lexmark tend to be more difficult and we encourage you to have a technician install your kit.
