This 4391996 Whirlpool Dryer Ignitor is designed to fit with a Whirlpool, Jenn Air, Kenmore and Maytag dryer. Works with many gas dryers.

This igniter ignites the gas from the gas valve of the clothes dryer. When the igniter burns out, the dryer tumbles but there's no heat because the gas can't ignite. When it burns out, you need to replace it. If the igniter is held by a tension bracket, you very well may need to replace the bracket too.
